Knife Incident & Being Healthy

Last weekend Lance and I decided to cook dinner together. We were trying to make pasta with the alfredo sauce that olive garden makes. We found the recipe online and it looked simple enough. So we went to the store and got special stuffed noodles. By the time we were in full swing of cooking Lance had begun to set the table.

But before we could sit down to eat, Lance cut his thumb while cutting the bread. In his defense it is a big sharp bread knife. It one of the fancy ones we got because we got married. :) So we had to take some time getting it to stop bleeding and all. It was a pretty yucky cut. We went back and forth on if he should get it looked at. He assured me he was fine and it would heal fine. So I did not make him go to the doctor..although I'm not sure if I have the power to "make him".

Recently we decided to try to be healthier. I bought 30 day shred and we have been doing that daily. There have already been days we want to skip and we've only been doing it for about 7 days. However, some how we have found ways to make each other continue. Along with working out more, I have been trying to cook healthier. This is hard for me because I must admit that I like the way I cook now just fine. I also have a problem with "health food". My mom likes "health food" and it has always grossed me out. However, I've been watching cook yourself thin some days. Although I don't think I could only cook out of their book, I do think they give you helpful hints for just cooking in general. Anyway I've been buying more veggies and trying to be smart while I'm cooking instead of adding all the oil and fat that i am used to cooking with. We'll see how long this lasts :)
