**This is his birth story. If you don't want to hear about it...don't read it.
I woke up around 3:00 am because of the snow plowers outside. I tossed and turned for an hour. Then around 4:00 I started to think I was having contractions. By 5:00 I knew I was having contractions but wasn't sure if they were real. By 7:00 I had woke Lance up and around 8:00 we were headed to the hospital.
When we got to the hospital they put us in one of those rooms to check on me and make sure I was in labor. This took FOREVER. It was kind of a blur but I remember there was two nurses. One lady tried to put my IV in. Notice how I said tried. Kind of how she tried to check me. Before she tried to put the IV in again, I went ahead and asked for the other nurse to do it. I felt bad and that isn't something I would normally do but dang it! I was in a lot of pain and I wanted someone to make it better, not worse. Finally it was time to get me a room.
Once we got moved, they gave me some drugs to hold me over until the epidural guy came. The drugs made me feel loopy. After more waiting, I finally got the epidural. After that everything was pretty fast. They broke my water, we waited a short while, four pushes later and Austin had arrived!
The cord was wrapped around his neck and he was a little blue. They whisked him away and gave him some oxygen. The doctor continued to talk to me and tell me how he wasn't crying yet but she just needs to be woke up a little. I didn't have time to worry, as she continued to work on me and soon he was crying away! Daddy on the other hand, about had a heart attack.
After all the excitement we eventually had some lunch and rested. That is, as much as you can rest in a hospital. Big brother came by to meet Austin after his nap time.
The next day we got to head home! That's when the real fun began!
