Lucas Michael

Once we found out that it is a boy, it did not take Lance and I long to agree on a name. We had several boy names that we were able to agree on, unlike girl names. We were never able to agree on a girl name. I've been asked what we'll name the baby if it ends up being a girl. Truth is, we would be completely shocked and the shock would be followed by panic because we would once again have to fight about what her name would be. I have a feeling the child would not have a name for awhile. However, we are not going to worry about that unless it happens.

Lucas Michael is the name Lance and I have picked. The name is pretty special to us because he is going to be named after Lance's brother, Luke. Luke became one of God's angels at a young age. Although I never knew him, I feel as though I did. I've heard more stories and memories about Luke that I know he was a special little guy. Once Lucas is old enough to learn about his uncle, I know he'll be proud to be named after someone so special. We chose Michael as his middle name because it is also Lance's middle name and it just felt right. So Lucas is not only named after his uncle but also his daddy.

We are planning on calling him Lucas and not Luke. We want him to have his own identity even though he is named after his uncle and dad. Plus, I'm sure once he gets older the decision of what he wants to be called will be up to him.

Lance and I are both super excited to meet Lucas Michael and introduce him to you all!
