I thought that since this was our third big move it would be easy. We are pros after all. Right? Not really. I am now not sure if one ever becomes a pro at moving or at least if I ever will. I do now know all the things that have to get done when you move. Although the way you do those things are different everywhere. That's the thing that makes it complicated.
Lucas and I spent our first weekend and few days in our new house without a bed and a lot of our stuff. Lance however, did it for 2 weeks before we even got here. Truthfully the thing I missed the most was my bed. The air mattress just wasn't cutting it for this pregnant body. We ate out and checked the town out for the days that we waited around for our stuff. Being without all your stuff isn't fun but I was just glad we were all finally together again. Being without my husband was a lot harder than being without all my stuff. Plus I'd tried to pack everything we truly needed while we were without the rest of our stuff.
Our stuff arrived on a Tuesday and that day was crazy. Lance was working and that left me in charge. I hate being in charge of big stuff like that. Thankfully I had help from Darren, Karen, and Lindsay. Lance and I had talked about where we wanted everything to go but you forget about stuff or something doesn't fit in a certain room, etc. You see they bring all our stuff into the house and place it in the room we want it in. Which is super nice and makes it so much easier to put stuff away. Lucas enjoyed the day and by 3 he was sleeping on grandma's lap on the front porch. They were still unloading stuff at that point. It was another hot day in the house. They finally finished around 5 or 6 and hit the road. We had more issues with stuff this move but luckily nothing that was very sentimental was broken.
The last few weeks have been crazy. There has been a lot going on with a lot of different things. Like I mentioned above, things just haven't went smoothly with everything this time. It's always the things that you think will be simple too. This is also our first week of having internet again! I'm not going to lie, I
missed it. Although I did miss it less because of my smart phone. I
could still do basically everything I needed to do. It just wasn't as easy and obviously I wasn't even going to attempt to blog on my phone.
Our fence finally got done and my parents brought Milo up this weekend! We all missed him. He's getting used to all his new neighbor dogs and surroundings. I think he enjoys being able to see out of the fence. He seems to be adjusting well to everything. After all, Milo is a world traveler.
Another thing that we are super stoked about is our Salina house selling! We got a call on our anniversary and we had a bid. Happy Anniversary, right?! After a few days we had agreed on a price and things were in motion. Yesterday I got to take all the bills and stuff out of our name. I think I did a happy dance. Although Lucas was screaming half the time I was trying to talk on the phone to the people. Now with that over, it seems like things maybe starting to calm down somewhat. Maybe...
