For Lucas' birthday weekend we loaded down the truck and headed
south. It's funny to think of Kansas being south. Yes, Milo made the
long trip with us too! He's always been a good traveler and this time
was no exception. Even considering he got booted to the back of the
truck.
We
headed out Thursday after Lance got off work a little early. We weren't
sure how it would work leaving then but it turned out working pretty
well. We drove a few hours and then stopped to eat. Drove a few more
hours and stopped to get gas, get Lucas ready for "bed", and let Milo
out. The rest of the trip was history after that. Friday was pretty
relaxing. We spend the day at my parents and that evening we started
some party prep.
Saturday
we did more party prep at Lance's parents house and then headed to the
game in the afternoon. The weather was perfect for tailgating and let's
face it, my husband loves tailgating. I'd even have to admit that some
of that has worn off on me. Although he is always the one that does all
the work for them.
Sunday
was party time! Lucas had a blast! He's so lucky to have so many people
that love him! Thanks to all our family and friends who were able to
help us celebrate! You all spoiled him! (More on his party later)
Monday
we spent half the morning packing everything back into the truck and
then headed North again. That was our last trip back for awhile since
another little guy will be joining us sometime early December. We were
so excited we got to see a lot of our family and friends while we were
back. It was a good trip but went fast. Maybe next time we won't pile so
much into our trip back but I doubt it!
