When Life Hands You Tomatoes...Make Sauce!

While we were back in Kansas we picked a bunch of tomatoes from my parents garden. Lucas LOVES picking things from the garden. So when we got back home I had all these tomatoes and decided to try to can some pizza sauce again. I ended up with a big ol pot of it and it tastes pretty good too! Lucas liked helping me push the button on the food processor. After that I had to kick him out of the kitchen because he is just a little too much help sometimes. Here is the link to the recipe that I used. I used this same recipe last year and it made it to the list again this year. I changed it a little based on what seasonings I had.

The other weekend I talked Lance into helping me make a scarecrow. It was super easy. Would have been easier if our toddler didn't love scattering the straw all over the porch but he had fun too. We Just tied off the ends of his legs and stuffed them. Tucked his shirt in, tied off the arms, and stuffed the shirt. Then stuffed a burlap sack we had. Added the face, hat, and it was as simple as that! Lucas ooo's and ahhh's every time he see's him. See all those pumpkins beside him? Lucas got to go pick them out of great grandma Mary's patch while we were back in Kansas. He was thrilled as he loaded them into the truck before we left and the excitement of them just hasn't worn off. He is constantly moving them all around the porch when we are outside. He is one busy boy!

Speaking of great grandma mary, her and great grandpa remembered how much Lucas enjoys getting mail and sent him a little something. We had to yun (run) home that day because I told him he had to wait to open it until we got back into the house. I have a picture of him shoving a few candy corns in his mouth. Candy and mail in the same day? What a dream!

This month we also started a MOPS group. We've only been twice but so far we are both enjoying it. Lucas gets to play with other kids his age and I get to hang out with other moms. It's been a great way to get me involved and familiar with the new town. Plus Lucas gets to have time away from me with other kids his age.

Then today we tried the tot time at our local library. They sang songs and read a few books. Lucas was shy the whole time and decided to just sit and watch. After that we walked to the new play area in the community center. He then decided to break out of his shell and let it all hang out. He was so comfortable he decided it was okay for him to take his pants off and continue to play! Don't worry, I put them back on and he had a great time playing!

Here's a few more picture of what we've been up to. He's such a busy boy!

Happy Tuesday!
